Tryouts are concluding tomorrow. It has been a good week so far, and we are close to placing players on teams. As we work through the tryout tomorrow, coaches will be speaking with players about their placement. Players should stay at the field until they have had a conversation with a coach and know their status.

The great news is that our third level (C-Team) is returning after a year of absence. We have the numbers for three full squads. Some information about that team:

While JV and Varsity will be starting practice immediately, the C-Team is going to wait a week. JV and Varsity have scrimmages coming up next week, so we have to start to train immediately with those players. The C-Team doesn’t have games for at least a couple of weeks. Therefore, the planned start date for the first C-Team practice is Thursday, August 19 from 4:30-6:00pm. This also aligns the start of the C-Team practices close to the start of school, and players can focus on getting started in class for a day or two before they add practice into the routine. Trust me — there’s a lot going on in the first week of school.

We will also have an optional whole-program finishing and striking practice on Saturday morning that all players (C-Team, JV, and Varsity) are invited to get some extra soccer in the meantime. I’ll announce a specific time soon.

The next step for the C-Team is to build the game schedule, which we started working on today. You can expect many updates to the calendar as we get closer to Thursday, August 19.
