Tryout Requirements
You must have completed your online registration and turned in a copy of your sports physical in order to participate, beginning August 8. No exceptions. Please scroll to the bottom of this update to read about how to register and get a sports physical.

Tryout Details
Tryouts will include a fitness evaluation and technical and tactical evaluations through 1v1 games, small-sided games, larger games, and some training-style drills. (If you would like to preview the fitness test, it is available to players in the FILES on the app.)

Tryout Equipment
Wear a white, grey, black, or green shirt. Wear soccer cleats. Bring plenty of water for yourself.

Player Placement
1. Tryouts are held every fall, and the best available players are selected to the teams. This is a competitive process that players should prepare for.
2. Players are not placed on a team automatically or due to previous years’ participation or participation in summer workouts.
3. Players will be notified in-person by a coach if they have not been placed on a team this season.
Coaches will not be available for longer meetings at that time. Players will be made aware of availability to meet with coaches to discuss player placement at a time following their placement.
4. The tryout process will include a fitness assessment and tactical/technical assessments, including through game play.
5. We strongly believe that younger players should play at the level that allows them the greatest opportunity to play as much as possible.
6. Trying out as a senior or junior is a more competitive experience. Seniors will not be placed on the JV team or the C team. They must earn a varsity position. Juniors will not be placed on the C team. They must earn a varsity or JV position.

Competitive levels of our three teams
VARSITY: The philosophy of our soccer program for the varsity level is that the best players play. This is a high-performing program, and playing time on the varsity level will not be equal. Opportunities for playing time may be limited for some players. We continue to evaluate the progress of athletes throughout the season.
JV AND C: At our sub-varsity levels, players who are working hard each practice can expect playing time in each game. Playing time will not be equal; however, players who are working hard will see playing time in each game. These levels are about development first.

Missing Tryouts
If a player is ill or needs to miss a tryout day, he should contact us as soon as possible. We prefer to have all three days to evaluate players, so it is important to communicate if you are not present.
